Intel's "OEM" Microprocessors


These processors are offered as options on various notebook computers (***) by OEM (various computer manufacturers) and DID**** NOT APPEAR on the Intel website.

The exact specifications for the processors above the green band are not confirmed as they cannot be found using the Intel Processor Finder

It would appear that the Intel T5850 is being used in the HP Touchsmart IQ506 - reports also suggest that tht T5670 and T5870 processors are also being offered in Dell Vostro notebooks.

Others report that these T5xxx series are just T7xxx processors with (bad?) cache - not sure where some of these posters get their information - it could be just conjecture! It also seems that there is no agreement in the absence of real facts!

Maybe the plan here is to list models with a T5670 (say in the case of the Lenovo) and then hope that the purchaser will opt for the recommended upgrade to the "True Centrino 2 Techonology" processor such as the P8400 or P8600?
