The scope of this "data collection" was global. Model numbers were taken from sources around the world. Issues regarding the downgrading of hardware to WindowsXP are not specific to region or particular computer models or manufacturers.
As TF is not trying to sell anything it doesn't matter if the hits on this website come from visitors that are looking for information of models that are being sold in the same region as TF. It is just the fact that this advertising information is more readily available to him.
