A recap for 2009/2010
Now that Windows 7 is with us, the interest in Virtualization has been sparked. The Steve Gibson utility SecurAble has been reserected as a means by which hardware can be assessed to determine whether XP-Mode can be run.
The question is? Can the utility be relied on to give an accurate result. I have had
some evidence that SecurAble has reported that a processor has VT capabilty whether the
manufacturer says that it is not on it's website. The processor in question is the AMD Turion X2 RM-74.
Also the AMD L335 also reports that it is VT capable)
Visitors to my blog and website claim that the SecurAble says that it does support virtulization (although the
visitor to the blog calls it SecureEnable - both the spellings of SecurAble and virtulization are maintained here).
It has not been confirmed whether the processors are in fact VT AMD-V compatable)
